I got a gorgeous life size mannequin thinking I could use it when I’m lacking a model…but it just wasn’t working out the way I’d hoped. So this is a nice little preview!!

Now this is how a shipments done!!

Take a look and get a feel of how special I try to make every Cry Out Fashion order!!

Okay…so here are the actual items she ordered:

First I seal them in plastic to keep dirt out:

Then I use spare material to make something “extra”…in this case, I made a hand held purse

Extra material used from pant legs, leftover chain, and batik from hands for the rose and lining.

Next, I use a similar theme for the labels:

I like to add a decorative quote that can be used as jewelry later, as well as some photos from our latest shoot.

Then I make a custom thank you card that emulates the clothing bought…

Inside, I hand write a personal note to the customer

Here’s what it looks like before packing:

I make sure to include my business card AND a coupon for their next order!!

The I wrap it like its the customers birthday! I love surprises and opening presents, so I love offering that to my customers!

In his latest couture collection, Jean Paul Gaultier focused on paying an homage to the late singer Amy Winehouse, who tragically lost her life in July last year, thus joining the 27 Club. Jean Gaultier looked at Amy as an icon with a different style, one that captured a lot of attention through vibrant colors and a lots of a vintage vibes, a perfect juxtaposition of contemporary and modern.

The collection who revolved on statement vividly colored pieces was accentuated, in an attempt to captured the essence of Amy Winehouse style, through her signature ultrathick cat-eyeliner as well as beehive hairstyle. The models wore colorful wigs that featured Amy’s trademark hairstylesfrom swirl updos to her beehive half up/half down dos.
Models wearing an array of ample detailed outfits strutted their perfect figures on the catwalk on the late singer’s music which was played in the background, singles such as “No, no, no,” “A taste of you”, “Stronger than me” and her most popular hit “Rehab”.

The show which exuded energy was filled with signature Gaultier details such as tweaked trenches, stylish corsetry and innovative masculine inspired suits. The dresses displayed in the show featured diverse details, taking you from vintage little black dresses to contemporary ultra sophisticated hourglass shaped dresses that never go by unnoticed. Jean Paul Gaultier has got his fans used to superb tailoring and these details are seen at their finest as the shapes and coloration of the collection accentuates every inch of the haute-couture ensembles.

Midi dresses, masculine inspired suits, mini skirts paired with corset tops, oversized baseball jacket paired with slit-front silk skirt and carefully detailed corsets worn with veils by the models were the main items that attracted the attention. The collection alternated softness with boldness, resulting a very chic collection infused with Ms. Winehouse’s eccentric style. Black and white outfits were met by red, blue, vivacious purple, yellow, pink, green and orange, giving the collection a fresh vibe, perfect for powerful women who love to play with color and unique fashion pieces.

Becoming a vender at an indie craft show

How do I get to have the privilege of becoming a vender at a Florida indie craft show? I have applied to several I feel my clothing line would fit into, and so far nothing has worked yet. I feel better knowing their are several reasons I may not be chosen, such as too many venders with similar items and so on. But I can’t wait to get my feet wet and use my new smart phone square credit card reader lol!! It’s funny…a friend of mine is convinced I should outsource eventually…but their is something so special about offering handmaid indie clothing. Any suggestions? I’ll update when I figure out what works B-)

Update: I got invited to vend at the Indie Craft Show & Handmade Bazaar in DT Ft. Lauderdale like I had hoped…but it was 2 days before the event. Since I make most of the clothing to order, I didn’t have time to build a proper inventory :-( . I had to decline and I hope they’ll accept me again! I’m applying to their next event for April 28th and will make sure to have a decent inventory just in case I get called in last minute again!!

Some stuff I’ve posted have been done to let people into my world. Some stuff I feel is great inspiration and interest. But I want to offer more. I want to offer more fashion tips, how to’s, current events in fashion and not in fashion, and continue to offer my personal trials and tribulations of starting my own clothing line, as well as what inspires me.
